Rita Virginia Webber

Mrs. Rita Virginia Webber, 85 of Brunswick, died Friday, February 6, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Millard Phillips Webber, who died May 17, 1956 .

Born April 16, 1923 in Brunswick, MD she was the daughter of the late Paul William and Mamie Ruth Barger Gaither.

Mrs. Webber retired from the National Geographic Society in 1988. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brunswick, MD where she was a Sunday School Teacher.

Mrs. Webber is survived by her two daughters , Sharon N. Good of Brunswick and Janie W. Shafer and husband John of Knoxville; two grandsons, Erik M. Good of Martinsburg and Millard Wesley Shafer of Knoxville; two brothers, Norman
Johnny Gaither and Paul Delphy Gaither and wife Betty, both of Brunswick; two sisters, Pauline M. Leach of Silver Spring and Doris Cannon of Frederick; sister-in-law Charlotte Gaither of Brunswick and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Capt. Jennifer J. Shafer Odom, son-in-law Earl L. Good, Jr., brothers, Benjamin D. Gaither, Harold D. Gaither and Kenneth W. Gaither and sisters Freda N. Shriver and June R. Keller.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Bruswick, MD on Monday, February 9, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Services: Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 10 at 11:00am.

Interment will be in Brownsville Cemetery.
