Mrs. Rita Elizabeth Clingan, 89, of Thurmont, MD passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at her home. She was the wife of the late Jeremiah Clingan, her husband of 54 years.
Born October 22, 1925 in Emmitsburg, MD she was the daughter of the late Guy and Mary Adams Clabaugh.
Rita worked for the Thurmont Shoe Co. for 34 years. She was an avid reader and also loved the outdoors and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sister Margaret Stull and husband Clifford of Thurmont and numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered by her friend and neighbor Betty Renner.
She is preceded in death by her sister Catherine Peters and her nephew Kenny Clabaugh.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM where a funeral service will be held on Monday, April 27 at 10AM. Pastor Bob Kells will officiate.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
