Richard W. Cross

Mr. Richard W. Cross, 57, of Frederick died on Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Kline Hospice House, Mt. Airy. He was husband of Marjorie Lynne Cross, his wife of 19 years.

Born on September 11, 1949, in Hastings, Nebraska, he was the son of the late Garland and Ruth Box Cross. He was Cartographer for the Department of Defense for more than 20 years and served in Vietnam and a member of the U.S. Navy. An outdoors man, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed horseback riding.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Megan R. Cross of Frederick; a brother, Ralph Cross and wife Claudia of Columbia; a nephew, Ian Cross and two nieces, Sarah and Allie Carter; a sister-in-law, Amy Carter and husband Donald of New Bloomfield, PA; and, his father-in-law, Harry Harpster of Lewistown, PA.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md.

Services: Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, at the Stauffer Funeral Home Chapel, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Md. with Rev. Tim May officiating. Interment will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
