Richard “Tim” Wayne Fox, of Woodsboro, MD passed surrounded by loving family on Friday, April 6, 2018.
Born October 2, 1939 in Weedville, PA, Tim was the son of the late Edward James Fox & Olive Mae Spang.
Tim was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Those close to Tim describe him as a compassionate, intelligent, funny, hardworking, and always thinking of others. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, passing this knowledge onto his children and grandchildren. A precious memory to all was his love of old westerns and music.
Tim served in the United States Army. After moving to Maryland in 1962, he worked for Asplundh Tree Company as a tree surgeon. He then began a 40-year career with the National Park Service, first at George Washington Memorial Parkway and later retiring as Facility Manager at Harpers Ferry, WV.
He is survived by wife of 54 years, Theresa Elliene Fox; two daughters Debbie Crum & husband, Cory of Thurmont, MD and their children, David Crum & wife Erin, Karen Nicklas and husband, Tyler; Donna Manger & husband, Wes of Suffolk, VA and their children, Kyle Wilcom, Kristen Wilcom and fiancé Erick Santos and Courtney Wilcom, Emily Manger and daughter Kalli, Alexandra Manger; and one son, Brian Fox of Woodsboro, MD.
Additionally, Tim is survived by his siblings residing in PA: Exper Fox and wife Rose Mary, Gregory Morgan Sr. and wife Nona, Wanda Cian, Christine Steele, Linda Geitner and husband Alan, and Patricia Porter and husband Kenneth; his Uncle Teed and Aunt Gloria Youngmark; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Tim is preceded in death by parents; step-father, Dale Spang; grandparents, Exper and Frances Youngmark; and brothers-in-law, Ron Steele and Charlie Cian.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10th from the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Albert K. Lane, III.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
