Richard "Rick" Macatee

On Friday, October 28, 2016, Rick passed away peacefully at home in Woodbine, MD.
Beloved husband of 34 years to Mary Inez Macatee; devoted father of Richard James Macatee of Tallahassee, FL, William Thomas Macatee of Washington, DC and Daniel Ryan Macatee of Woodbine, MD; loving brother of John Charles Macatee (Barbara) of Yantis, TX. Also survived and cherished by many other adoring family members and friends. Preceded in death by brother, Walter Francis Macatee, III and sister, JoAnn Price.
Rick was born November 30, 1953 in Marion County, OH to the late Anna H. Dobesch formerly of Salzburg, Austria and Walter Francis Macatee, Jr., formerly of Baltimore, MD. Rick lived his very early years in Vienna, Austria and then settled in Maryland. He worked in commercial boiler sales at the Thos. Somerville Co. for the past 25 years.
Rick was fun-loving and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life like bonfires on a snowy day, riding a wave in the Outer Banks, cooking on a charcoal grill, watching a movie with his family, and talking and laughing with the boys. He always had a way to make you laugh and forget about your worries.
Rick donated his body to science. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 4 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Boulevard, Mount Airy, MD 21774, followed by a memorial service beginning at 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
In Rick's memory, the family suggests spending time with loved ones and donating to your favorite charity.
