Richard "Rick" Cannedy

Richard "Rick" Paul Cannedy also known as Brokeback 56, of Brunswick, MD passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014. He was the husband of Kathie Cannedy.
Born on June 16, 1958 in Bethesda, MD he was the son of the late Robert and Nell Hoover Cannedy.
Rick proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He later worked as a contractor in the construction industry. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Rick also enjoyed kayaking with his good friends Wes and Tina Frans. Wes and Rick were certified kayak instructors and water rescue personnel and both later made honorary Girl Scouts.
Rick was a loving husband, father and grandfather. In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Rick Cannedy, Jr. of Brunswick, step-son Kenneth Dye; brothers Larry Cannedy and wife JoEllen and Bobby Cannedy and wife Margo; sister Stacy Cannedy; nephews Frankie and Jeff Cannedy and numerous other friends and relatives. He will also be remembered by his best friends Wynn and Kelly Zimmerman.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 2PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Ave., Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702, to cover final funeral expenses.
