Mr. Richard O. Helliesen, 82, of Mt. Airy died on Monday March 29, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital, Baltimore.
Born on March 13, 1928 in Syracuse, NY., he was the son of the late Torleiv and Gunborg Helliesen.
Surviving is one daughter Christine Amereihn and husband Kenneth of Mt. Airy. Granddaughter Catherine Joy Amereihn of Mt. Airy. Step son Henning Jonassen and wife Theresa of New Jersey. Grandson Steven Jonassen of New Jersey. Also survived by Annie Helliesen and sister Marta Aarrestad both of Norway.

Services: Memorial services will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, on Saturday April 3, 2010 at 11:00am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. The Reverend Tim May will officiate. Interment will be private.
