Richard Gene "Dicky" Kidd, 70, of Myersville, formerly of Frederick, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at his home following a five-month battle with cancer. He was the fiancé of Marion Haupt.

Born January 2, 1948 in Frederick, he was the son of Virginia Lee Kidd and was raised by his grandmother, Theresa V. Trail Kidd, his Aunt Shirley, and his grandfather, Russell C. Kidd.

Dicky was a custom farmer and a construction worker in Frederick County for many years. He also did snow plow removal. He loved taking rides through the country and visiting every machinery lot he saw.

In addition to his fiancé, Marion, Dicky is survived by his siblings, Wanda Scaletta, Vicki Cook, and Calvin Cook; Marion's son, David Haupt and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Kayla, Brooke, and Emma (Skeeter); many aunts, uncles and cousins; three special friends, Brother Bears Bidle, Keefer Crummitt, Jr., and Jonathan Leatherman, among other friends; and many additional extended family members.

The family wishes to thank Dr. O'Connor and staff at James M. Stockman Cancer Institute for their continued love and care during his illness.

A celebration of Dicky's life will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at MVFC Activities Building, 1 Fireman's Lane, Middletown, with a gathering of friends beginning at 10:30.
