Mr. Richard C. Dicky Renn, 50, of Buckeystown, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 7, 2008, at his home. He was the husband of Peggy Olsen Renn, his wife of 17 years.
Born on May 20, 1958, in Frederick, he was the youngest son of Robert E. and Beattie I. Zimmerman Renn of Frederick.
Dicky worked along with his family on their dairy farm all of his life. He also had a special passion and love for dogs, specifically his Australian Shepherds, which he used in his work around the farm. He co-owned, with his wife, CowJazz Kennel. Dicky also provided lessons to many students in herding. He loved encouraging others with the same passion he had. Dicky received much enjoyment and had much success in trialing his own dogs in the herding arena. He was always willing to lend a hand and gave unselfishly to help people in any way.
Dicky was a long time member, board member and past president of the Mid-Atlantic Australian Shepherd Club and the Australian Shepherd Club of America.
He attended Grace Community Church. Dicky was a very loving and dedicated husband, father, son, brother and friend and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are 4 children: Beattie Catherine Renn at home, Steffannie Zimmerman of Hagerstown, Nissa Freeman and husband Dwayne also of Hagerstown and Kay Masser of Frederick; son-in-law, Wilbur Zimmerman of Smithsburg; 11 grandchildren, 4 brothers and a sister: Robert Renn and wife Jo of Frederick, John Renn and wife Kathy of Frederick, Roberta Renn of Walkersville, James Renn and wife Susan of Frederick and Thomas Renn of Frederick; brother and sister-in laws: Cathie Olsen of Gaithersburg and Leif Olsen and wife Shirley of Thurmont; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services: The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM on Saturday, November 15, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick where a memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM with Pastor Michael Brubaker of Grace Community Church officiating.
