Richard Eugene Wastler, 62, of Rocky Ridge, MD, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025. Born on October 13,1962 in Frederick, he was raised by his grandmother, Mable Wastler and aunt, Ruth Rinehart.

Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Tina; their daughter, who was his pride and joy, Sara, grandson, Myles, aunt, Ruth, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mable.

Rick dedicated over 40 years of his life to truck driving. He was a respected member of the community, passionately and genuinely serving as a coach, mentor, and friend, impacting the lives of countless people.

Rick took great joy in spending time with Myles and could always be found running around playing with him and sharing stories with him. Their bond was truly special, and Rick was proud to see his grandson grow into a kind, curious young boy.

Rick was an avid Orioles, Redskins and Nascar fan who enjoyed spending time with his family cheering them on in his free time. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main St., Thurmont, MD 21788.

Services and interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Shriners, Children’s.
