OBITUARY OF : MR. RICHARD “ RICK “ E. STUP
Mr. Richard “ Rick “ E. Stup, 56, of Walkersville, died on Friday, March 16th, 2012 at his home. Born on January 21st, 1956 in Frederick he was a son of Phyllis W. ( Ward ) Stup and Marion E. Stup who preceded him in death on January 20th, 2006.
Rick was employed as a maintenance technician for the last 22 years for the town of Walkersville. He enjoyed maintaining the town streets and parks. Previously he worked on the family dairy farm where he was raised. He was an avid collector of antique toy tractors, mugs, steins and duck carvings. He looked forward to traveling.
Surviving beside his mom are two brothers, Ronald “ Ronnie “ E. Stup of Walkersville, Edgar “ Eddie “ A. Stup, Sr. and wife Winifred “ Winnie “ L. Stup of Walkersville. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and ten nieces and nephews. Rick was well known and liked in the community and will be missed by his many close friends.
Family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville on Sunday and Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friends may also call on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Albert K. Lane III officiating. Interment in Glade Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Utica, 10625 Old Frederick Rd., Thurmont, MD 21788 or Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company, 79 W.
