Richard Strausbaugh

Mr. Richard S. (Dick) Strausbaugh, 79, of Knoxville, passed away on Saturday, October 2nd at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Carolyn Ann (Youngblood) Strausbaugh.

Born in Pennsylvania, on June 3, 1931, he was the son of the late George Strausbaugh and Rita Copp Fishel, he was preceded in death also by his brother George Strausbaugh, Jr., and his step father Joseph Fishel.

Dick served our country in the US Navy. He was a retired automotive mechanic having worked for Wilson Pontiac in Silver Spring for 30 years and more recently with Mar-Lu View Nursery in Jefferson.

Survivors include his children, Glen Martin and David Strausbaugh both of Frederick, Linda Strausbaugh and Sussan Firouzabadi both of New Market and Lisa Evans of Hagerstown; his grandchildren, Richard Trent, Carolynn Evans, Brandyn Evans, Shannon Evans, Justin Cheeks, Noah Brummer, Gabrielle Brummer, his great grandchildren, Victoria Evans and Richard Lance Stump, III; his siblings, David Fishel and Patricia Southard of York, PA, and Donald Fishel of Palos Hills, IL.

Dick was a friend of Bill Wilson for 46 years.

A memorial service celebrating Dick’s life will be held on Saturday, October 16th at 11 AM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD with Pastor Marina Flores officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services, and a wake is to be be held immediately following at the Hampton Inn, 1565 Opossumtown Pike.
