Mr. Richard Leon Ridenour, 63, of Thurmont, MD passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 after a courageous battle with ALS. He was the beloved husband of Marsha Ridenour.
Born on January 21, 1950 in Brunswick, MD he was the son of Leon and Betty Carver Ridenour of Thurmont.
Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines. He was a life member of the American Legion, Post #168 of Thurmont and also a member of the AMVETS, Post # 7 of Thurmont. Richard enjoyed antique shopping, flea markets and music. He also loved spending time with his family and friends. Rick, as he was known by most, will be remembered for his humor, kindness, and willingness to help others.
In addition to his wife and parents he is survived by his sister Judy Vona and husband Jimmy and brother David Ridenour and wife Judy; niece Amy Cooney and husband John and great-nephews Aidan and Luke Cooney; 2 step-children Brent Toms and wife Jennyfer and Tara Jenkins and husband Tyrone and 3 step-grandchildren Hayden Toms and Jaylen and Kyleigh Jenkins.
He is preceded in death by his brother Mark Ridenour.
Interment will be private.
