Mr. Richard Price, 81 of Brunswick, Maryland passed away on Sunday, July 31 st , 2011 at his daughter’s home. He was the husband of the late Betty Jane Price who departed his side on June 1, 1998.
Born September 29, 1929 in Brunswick, MD he was the son of the late Clarke G. Price, Sr. and Lillian Speaks Price.
He graduated from Brunswick High School where he was a member of the school soccer team. He was an outstanding soccer player. He was employed by the Washington Terminal Company for 32 years now known as Amtrack for another 10 years. He retired after 42 years of service as a car repairman. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Redskins, Terps and the Orioles. He was a lifetime member of the Prince George’s County Elks Lodge 1778 and he was also a member of the Brothe’s of the Railroad Carman.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Holly Jane Alford and husband Kenny of Middletown, his son, Jeffrey L. Price, Sr. and wife Wanda of Columbia, five grandchildren, Jennifer and Kenneth Alford, Jeffrey Price, Jr. and wife Jennifer, Shane Price and wife Kelly and Courtney Curtis and husband Alan, six great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Camdyn, Claire, Elijah and Delaney Price and Luke Curtis, his sister, June Utterback, three brothers, Donald Price and wife Jean, Gary Price and wife Linda and Wayne Price.
He is preceded in death by an infant son, Stephen R. Price, a brother Clarke G. Price, Jr, a sister Dorothy Caniford and mother-in-law, Lucille Beatty.
The family and friends he touched will always keep a special place in their hearts.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North maple Ave., Brunswick on Wednesday, August 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8PM.Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 4 th at 10:00 AM with Rev. Lloyd Fuss officiating.
Interment will be in Lovettsville Union Cemetery.
