Richard Mannebach

June 9, 1944 — October 3, 2018

Richard Lee Mannebach, 74 passed away peacefully at his home in Frederick, MD on Wednesday, October 3, 2018.
He was born on June 9, 1944 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Clement and Charlotte (Trantow) Mannebach.
Richard grew up in Appleton and graduated from Xavier High School in 1963. Shortly thereafter he was drafted into the Army where he proudly served over twenty years working in medical logistics.  During this time he met his soon to be wife Argelis Lee.  They were married April 8th 1967. Richard served on bases in Panama, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Okinawa and Ft. Detrick in Frederick, MD.  He earned numerous medals including six awards of good conduct, Army commendation medal, overseas service ribbon, expert qualification badge M16 rifle among others. Near the end of his military career he earned a BS in Business Administration from the University of Maryland.  He retired Sergeant First Class in 1986 and started a new career with the Frederick County Board of Education as their warehouse manager until his retirement in 2011.  He lived his retired years helping his wife manage her daycare, doing surprise handyman work in his daughter's homes and spending time with his grandchildren.  Richard had a big personality and even bigger heart.  He'll be fondly remembered for his love of grilling, movies, cribbage and cards, telling jokes, Christmas, QVC, the Green Bay Packers and most of all his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Argelis Mannebach; he is survived by his daughters Julie (Bruce) Aderhold,  Brenda (Mike) Cunningham and son Shane (Michelle) Mannebach; four grandchildren, Jordan Aderhold, Megan Cunningham, Maddie and Kaitlyn Mannebach;  four brothers, Wayne Mannebach, Dennis Mannebach, Philip (Kay) Mannebach, Keith (Darlene) Mannebach and three sisters Rosemary Schmitzer, Sandra Vanderloop and Karen (Wayne) Wittman and his beloved pug, Trooper.   He was preceded in death by parents, Clement & Charlotte Mannebach and a brother, Gary Mannebach.
A special thank you to Rosemary (Sam) Richardson for her help, advice, support and love throughout as well as to all friends whose visits, calls and cards helped keep the family going the past two years.
