Richard Main, Jr.

Richard Lee Main, Jr., 65, of Frederick, passed from this life on Tuesday, November 6, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Rebecca Ann Staley Main. They were married on November 10, 1973. Born on May 21, 1953, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Richard L. Main and Mary Elizabeth O'Hara Main.
Mr. Main was a graduate of Frederick High School, Class of 1971. He worked for 40 years at Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers in Frederick. Dick worked most recently for Lanco Pennland Quality Milk in Hagerstown. He and his wife were parishioners of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church for many years. Dick was active in the Knights of Columbus Council #11815 and Chaplain Vincent R Capodanno Assembly #3162.
Dick was a former President of Dairy Tech Society and enjoyed bowling at Arcade Lanes for many years in a league. He held leadership roles with Frederick County Street Rods and traveled to car shows. Mr. Main enjoyed woodworking, auto mechanics and camping at River Bend Campgrounds with his family. He was always willing and able to help his family and friends with anything they may need.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, Becky, he is survived by daughters: Amy Elizabeth Mossburg and husband Doug, Diane Marie Harding and husband Tony, Debra Ann Temple and husband James and Brenda Lee Price and husband Timmy. He loved spending time with his 9 Grandchildren: Haley, Ally and Jenna Harding, Ben and Nathan Nedrow, Leah and Alexandra Temple, Bryant and Rhiannon Price, as well as sisters, Linda Shultz and husband Bernie and Barbara Harris. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 8 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 East Main Street, Thurmont. A celebration of Richard's life journey will take place on Friday, November 9 at 10:00 am in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Michael Jendrek will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center.
