Richard Joy, Jr.

Mr. Richard Austin “AJ” Joy, Jr. of Jefferson, MD passed away on Sunday morning, October 16, 2011 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born February 28, 1970 in Frederick he was the son of the late Richard Joy Sr. “Pal”. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Connie Marie Seward and George David Seward both of Jefferson.

Richard enjoyed motor cycle racing, model cars, bike riding and playing video games. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

In addition to his loving parents, Connie and George he is survived by his seven brothers and sisters, Ricky Lee Streams, David William Seward, Lisa Fay Seward, George David Seward, Jr., Rosie Lee Cabreia, Lee Joy Beachly and Kandi Marie Joy Beachly, his grandmother, Bessie Seward, his uncles, Melvin Seward, John Jacobs and wife Diane, Bruce Jacobs, cousins, Kathy Summers, Merle Lee Summers and Mary Alice Seward, nieces and nephews, Stacy& husband Thomas  Fraley, Lisa Jacobs, David Knight Jr. great nieces, Dallas Knight and great nephew Darius Fraley.

He will also be remembered by his childhood friend, Jessie Remsburg and family and his special friends, Dennis Green, David Brown, James Nuggent, Dan Stewart, Candy Mercer & finance Jay Brown, Virginia Brown, Charles Jacobs and Terry Jacobs and wife Debbie and Heather Costollo.

He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Christian Cline, his grandparents, George Seward, William Jacobs and Julia Jacobs, uncle Carroll Summers and his aunt Linda Summers.

A memorial service celebrating Richard’s life will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 3:00PM at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where the family will be present to receive friends one hour prior.
