Richard Mailen “Dick” Horch, 84, passed away Thursday, January 26th 2012 in Frederick, MD.
Born March 10, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio, he was the son of Fred and Wilda Horch.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Florence Horch; son David Horch (Rebecca); daughters Dianne Stull and Drue McAllister (Brian); daughter-in-law Kaylie Horch; stepson Gregg Riebesehl (Karen); grandchildren Timothy and Andrew Stull, Jessica and Kelsey Horch, Mia and Mason Horch; great-grandchildren Noah and Chase Stull, niece Jeanette (horch) Ellisor, step-grandchildren Amanda and Derek Riebesehl, and sister-in-law Sara Horch.
He was preceded in death by his brother Dan, son Douglas, granddaughter Lindsay Stull, and first wife Dolores Noland Horch.
During the course of his career he served as Director of Personnel Services at Princeton University and held similar positions at RCA, Marriott, and Frederick Electronics.
He served as president of the school board in Lawrenceville N.J. where he was instrumental in the building of the Lawrenceville High School. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Frederick Maryland and Augusta Maine for many years, and served as a deacon of the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church. He was most recently a member of the Englewood United Methodist Church.
Dick was an accomplished golfer as well as an unrelenting fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.
A memorial service for close family and friends will be held at a later date.
