Richard Eugene Hoffman Sr., age 59, of 8434 Mountain Laurel Road, Boonsboro, MD, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at his home.
Born June 23, 1947 in Washington County, he was a son of the late Ernest William and Bessie Jeannette Kephart Hoffman.
Richard was a graduate of Boonsboro High School.
He had been employed for over 18 years with Francis O. Day, Inc. in Rockville, MD.
Richard is survived by his wife, Teresa Maria Biser Hoffman, whom he married Feb. 15, 1974; one daughter, Dawn R. Singleton and husband Dwayne of Waynesboro, PA; four grandchildren, Anthony Hoffman of Keedysville, MD, and Brooke R. Singleton, Rebekah E. Singleton and Kyle D. Singleton, all of Waynesboro; seven sisters, Shirley Taylor of Front Royal, VA, Patricia McClanathan of Pasadena, MD, Belva Hoffman of Walkersville, MD, Betty O'Brien of Lutherville, MD, Carolyn Suranno of Dunkirk, MD, Diane Trickett of Mt. Airy, MD, and Debbie Ridenour of Boonsboro; and three brothers, Harold Hoffman of Frederick, MD, Donald Hoffman Sr. of Kearneysville, WV, and Gary Hoffman of Sterling, VA.
He was preceded in death by a son, Richard E. Hoffman Jr.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. The Rev. Ron Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Lena Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
