Richard Lee Hardy , 79, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed from this life on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Born on June 7, 1934 in Gaithersburg, Maryland, he was the son of the late George and Madeline (Bussard) Hardy.
Richard retired from Pangborn Corporation after 36 years. In his spare time he was an avid golfer. In addition, Richard also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. His interests included membership in the Sons of the American Legion, Clopper-Michael Legion Post 10, Boonsboro, the Williamsport Red Men Tribe #84, and the North American Rod and Gun Club in Hagerstown.
He is survived by his companion, Beverly D. Trovinger of Boonsboro; four daughters, Teresa Eichelberger of Hagerstown, Debbie Pearson of Boonsboro, Tina Draper of Hagerstown, and Sherry Potts of Tennessee; his son, Richard L. Hardy, Jr. of Kentucky; brothers, Wesley Hardy of Hagerstown and Elwood Hardy of Boonsboro; and by ten grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Monday, November 11, 2013 at 6:00 pm at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service.
