Mr. Richard “Rick” N. Grove, Jr., 62 of Knoxville, Maryland, passed away October 25, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Melody Grove, his wife of 40 years.
Rick was born December 26, 1949 in Frederick, the son of Richard N., Grove Sr., and the late Betty Remsberg Grove.
Mr. Grove was a member of the United Church of Christ in Jefferson, a member of NHRA, NMCA, NSCA, and the American Legion Post #96.
He was president of Brunswick Excavating, Inc. for 28 years and former owner of Brunswick Exxon Service Station for 10 years. Rick was an avid OPS Outlaw Drag Racer, a hard worker, “Jack of all Trades” and was always willing to help others.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Emily Ann Davis and husband Andrew of Mt. Airy, two granddaughters Elise and Lily Davis, two god children Stacy Richardson and Chris Naille. He will be remembered by the Gearhead Bible Study Group and missed by many friends and family and his two bloodhounds “Zoe and Chloe”. He was preceded in death by infant sister Donna Grove and infant brother Thomas Grove.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 N. Maple Avenue, Brunswick MD on Thursday, November 1, from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Dick Thomas will officiate.
Interment Park Heights Cemetery.
