Richard Thomas "Rick" Geisler Jr., 70, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024 from ALS at his home near Burkittsville, where he had lived for 66 years. He was the loving husband of Joyce Brandenburg Geisler. They were married for 45 years.
Born on January 23, 1954, in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Richard Thomas Geisler, Sr. and Anna Lee (Myers) Geisler.
He graduated from Brunswick High School, Class of 1972.
Rick was a lifelong farmer. He also was a truck driver for Blickenstaff Transportation and as an owner operator for Willard Agri Service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Barbara Badstibner and her husband Kyle; grandchildren, Addison Kaas, Charles Kaas III, Suzanna Badstibner, and Sydney Badstibner; siblings, Robin Geisler Leatherman and husband Steve; in-laws, Richard and Elaine Brandenburg; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Steve and Brenda Henry; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 North Maple Avenue in Brunswick, MD.
A celebration of life and luncheon will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 3 at the Brunswick Fire Hall. At the request of the family, please dress casually.
Interment will be private.
