Mr. Richard E. Frye, Sr., 81, of Frederick, MD passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Doris V. Frye for 53 years.
Born on August 6, 1931 in Frederick, MD he was the son of the late Norman and Dorothy Shewbridge Frye.
Mr. Frye proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Prior to his retirement he worked as a manger for the U.S. Postal Service. Richard was a member of the American Legion, Frederick, the Kiwanas and the Korean War Vets. He enjoyed photography, painting and computers.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his three children Richard Frye, Jr., and wife Melanie of Frederick, Tim Frye and wife Jennifer of Clarksville, and Julie Frye and husband Trevor of Martinsburg, WV; brothers Norman Frye, Jr., David Frye, Kermit Frye, Kelley Frye and Terry Frye; sisters Sharon Frye and Carol Ann Wilson; grandchildren, Richard Eugene, III, Adam, Heather, Joshua, Lindsay, Killian and Teagan and great-grandchildren Grayson, Landon, Ava and Cole.
A Requiem Mass will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Anglican Catholic Church, located at the Braddock Lutheran Church facility, 6938 N. Clifton Rd., Frederick, MD 21702. Father Arthur Woolley will be the celebrant.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the above mentioned church for their building fund.
