Mr. Richard “Dick” M. Coffren, 74, of Frederick, Md., passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at his home. He was the husband of Shirley Coffren.
Born October 2, 1937 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Herbert and Louise Coffren.
Mr. Coffren was a member of St. Paul’s Piney Parish in Waldorf. He served his country in the U. S. Army. Dick retired after 36 years of service at Safeway and he enjoyed car shows and hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children Paul Coffren and wife Jeanette of WA and Richard (Rick) Coffren and wife Sherry of MD, grandchildren Jacqueline (Jaybird), Justin, Bryan and Stephen, his sister Fay Dittmar , two brothers Robert and Gene Coffren. Many nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother Hugh Coffren and a sister Dorothy Mercer.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Monday, October 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A visitation will also be held at the Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, MD. on Tuesday, October 2, from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held following the visitation at 2:30 p.m. from St. Paul’s Piney Parish, Waldorf, MD
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
