Richard Campbell, Jr.

Mr. Richard Carlton "Sonny" Campbell, Jr., 72, of Frederick, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday morning, March 23, 2014 at College View Center. He was the loving husband of the late Mildred V. Campbell, who predeceased him on April 23, 2010.
Born October 29, 1941 in Fauquier County, Virginia, he was the son of the late Janie and Carl Campbell, Sr.
Sonny was a truck driver for numerous companies since he was 18 years old. He was employed at Sonny Waddell's Hauling of Haymarket, Virginia; Daniel Barrett Hauling of Manassas, Virginia; RF Kline Construction of Frederick; F.O. Day Construction of Clarksburg; and Thompson Mail Carriers of Alexandria, Virginia.
He is survived by two sisters, Sarah Breeden of Frederick, and Linda Mae Chambers of Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick.
Graveside services will begin at 12 pm on Wednesday, March 26 at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, Va.
