Richard Betson

Richard K. Betson, 75, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on April 6, 2018 at his home.
Born on July 9, 1942, he was the son of Elizabeth (Albaugh) and Ralph Betson. After graduating from High School at Frederick High, Richard served in the United States Navy, Bainbridge, MD. Following his service he went on to work in Real Estate opening up Century 21 Betson Agency and then an Insurance broker for Erie Insurance Co, later to become a Bail Bondsmen. He had a strong faith in his Lord and was considered a compassionate, caring neighbor and friend.
Richard is survived by his two children, Robert Betson (Beverly), Robyn Larkin (Chris), Great Children Ashley, Jackie, Josh, Stephen and Cassie; Step Grandchildren Adam, Nick and Nicole, Great Grandchildren Mason and Shane, along with some aunt, uncles and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his special Aunt’s Betty Stroh and Anne Clark, along with numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins
The family will receive friends from 1-2pm on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. A celebration of his life will begin at the funeral home at 2pm.  Pastor Dana Werts and Pastor Gary Hicks will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick, Beacon House or a Veterans program of your choice.
