Mr. Richard W. ( Dick ) Becker, 80, of Columbia, MD , passed away on Saturday, June 19 th , 2010 . Dick was born in Racine, Wisconsin in 1930, his family later moved to Chisholm, Minnesota where he developed a love of the outdoors. As a young man he held jobs as a truck driver for the taconite mines in Minnesota. He joined the Navy in 1948 and later served in the Marines with duty on the USS Iowa.
Upon visiting family in Maryland, he met and later married Margaret Becker, making suburban Maryland his home. An avid outdoorsman, Dick enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He worked as a route salesman for both Pepsi Cola and Coca Cola, advancing to the position of district manager during his 20 + years with Coca Cola.
He is survived by his longtime companion Janice Adams, his beloved daughter Barbara Flook and two cousins Beverly Hale and Janice Cramer.
Being an avid dog lover, Dick greatly missed his wonderful rescue Golden Retriever, Cinnamon, who passed in 2004. Contributions may be made to Golden Retriever Rescue Education & Training, www.grreat.org
