Richard Bartlebaugh

Mr. Richard Van Bartlebaugh, 81, of Walkersville died suddenly Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Nancy (Dymond) Bartlebaugh. They were married 58 years.

Born July 9, 1934 in Kingston, PA, he was the son of the late Louise and Maurice Bartlebaugh.

He was a graduate of Forty Fort High School in Forty Fort, PA, and Wilkes College in Wilkes Barre, PA. He was a System Analyst with Marriott International for 30 years.

Mr. Bartlebaugh was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Frederick.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Sandra L. Zimmerman and husband, Bruce; and Mark Bartlebaugh; three grandchildren, Brett and Emily Brooke Zimmerman and Ashlyn Bartlebaugh; a brother, Marc Bartlebaugh of Camp Hill, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by siblings, Robert Bartlebaugh and Mary Julia Richards.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 24 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 703 West Patrick Street, Frederick. Officiating will be Rev. Lynn Wilson.

Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walkersville Volunteer Rescue Company, Trinity United Methodist Church, Johns Hopkins Children's Center - Pediatric Oncology Department, or to the American Diabetes Association.
