Richard Lee Allen, 68, of New Market, MD, died November 30, 2016 surrounded by his family.
He was born July 8, 1948 in East St. Louis, Illinois to the late William and Viola Allen.
Richard graduated from Collinsville, Illinois High School in 1966. He went on to receive a business degree from the University of Nebraska and a Master's Degree from University of Maryland.
He was employed as a Medical Materials Analyst at Ft. Detrick. He retired from active duty Air Force in 2000 after serving 33 years as a hospital administrator.
Richard is survived by his wife, Linda J. Allen; his two sons, Christopher and Damon, both of New Market; and one brother, Robert Allen of Wyoming, Michigan.
He was a devoted father and avidly participated in Boy Scout activities. There wasn't a cook crew he didn't volunteer to be on! He enjoyed hiking in the Catoctins and on the local trails with his beloved lab, Ralphie.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.
