Mrs. Rhoda L. Stull, 90, longtime Lewistown resident, died peacefully Thursday, October 9, 2014 at her home with her family by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Floyd Howard Stull, who predeceased her on February 17, 2014.
Born August 3, 1924 near Libertytown, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Walter and Annie Elizabeth Cookerly Moxley.
Mrs. Stull was a 1942 graduate of Liberty High School. Together with her husband, she was owner/operator of Stull's Service Station in Lewistown for over 60 years. She was a longtime member of Faith United Church of Christ, Maryland Farm Bureau and Locust Grove Church of the Brethren. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mrs. Stull is survived by four children, Vivian Wachter and husband, Larry, of Lewistown; Yvonne Bowers and husband, John, of Frederick; Ronald Stull and wife, Ruth, of Rocky Ridge; and Stephan Stull and wife, Jennifer, of Lewistown; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Moxley of Frederick; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Annie Parepa Stoner; half-sisters, Vivian and Dorine Burdette; brother, Fred Moxley; infant brother, Ernest G. Moxley; and half-brothers, Jesse, Anthony, and Alton Moxley.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 104 East Main Street, Thurmont.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from Faith United Church of Christ, 9333 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702. Officiating will be the Rev. Katherine Penick.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Serving as pall bearers will be John Lann, Ronald Stull Jr., Shayne Frebert, Aaron Stull, John C. Bowers, and Kendall Stoner.
