Rhoda Rice

Rhoda Magdolene Rice, 97, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at Manor Care Rehabilitation Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Born on February 8, 1918, in Rohrersville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Otho C. and Blanche L. (Thomas) Rice. She also was preceded in death by one sister, Kathleen Violet; and her brother, Randolph Rice.
Rhoda attended Boonsboro High School.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Rohrersville.
Rhoda had been employed at the Hagerstown Shoe Factory, London Fog Coat Factory in Boonsboro, and she was the owner of Rhoda's Beauty Salon in Rohrersville.
She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
She is survived by two sisters, Freeda McClure of Havre de Grace, Maryland, and Dorothy Norris of Loxahatchee, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2015, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro. Rev. Marvin Kline and Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery at Locust Grove.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
