Rev. Patricia Drake

Rev. Patricia Ann (Haynes) Drake, 78, of Boonsboro, Maryland went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at Reeders Memorial Home in Boonsboro.

Born on October 29, 1931, in Hagerstown, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Walter DeWitt and Mildred May (Fitz) Haynes.

Her husband, George Arthur Drake, Sr., preceded her in death in 1980.

Rev. Drake was a United Methodist Minister for 21 years and was a member of the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church.  She was also a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Keedysville, Maryland.

She was a 1949 graduate of Hagerstown High School and also graduated from Hagerstown Junior College.  She received her Regents Bachelor of Arts Degree from Shepherd College and her Master's of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.

She is survived by her four sons, George A. Drake, Jr. and his wife Jennifer and  Michael A. Drake and his wife Lisa all of Sharpsburg, Maryland, and Philip A. Drake and his wife Kelli and Paul A. Drake and his wife Laura all of  Keedysville, Maryland.  She is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Rev. Drake was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy L. Haynes Burgan Brewer.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Salem United Methodist Church, 25 South Main Street in Keedysville.  Rev. Jennifer Kokoski, Bishop Joseph Yeakel and Rev. Beverly Stang will officiate.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Keedysville.

Friends are invited to visit beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, where the family will be present to receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, Post Office Box 25, Keedysville, Maryland, 21756.
