Rev. Harold and Mrs. Nancy Ebersole

Rev. Harold Lee and Mrs. Nancy Lee Ebersole, ages 88 and 81, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away peacefully within two days of each other inseparable after 63 years of marriage.

Harold was born on September 8, 1928 in Sharpsburg, he was the son of the late Matthew G. and Faye E. (Martz) DeVore. Nancy was born on October 4, 1935, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Paul L. and Geraldine L. (Bond) Baker.

Harold attended the Boonsboro schools. He also attended the Institute of Theology and the Washington Bible College Extension School. In his early ministry, Harold Pastored at the Blue Rock Church of God and also the Pleasantville Church of God. He was employed as a brick mason his entire life. Harold (Cap) will be fondly remembered by many for selling his Christmas trees and being seen along the road selling his produce.

Nancy graduated from Boonsboro High School Class of 1953. She retired from Hagerstown Trust after 23 years of service.

They were devoted members of the Sharpsburg Bible Church where he served as an Elder for many years and she served as a junior church teacher and was part of the Sisters in Christ group.

Together raising a family, Harold and Nancy were happily married August 14, 1954 at Benevola United Methodist Church. They are survived by their children, a son, Matthew Ebersole and wife, Debbie; their daughters, Susan Gay and husband, Troy and Ruby McDonough and husband, Keith; two granddaughters, Christie Ebersole and Brandie Kelly and husband, Danny; one great-grandson, Logan Kelly; Harold's siblings Lorraine Carder and Richard DeVore; in-laws, Terri Baker, Fran Baker, Eve Baker and Roger Bowman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

They were preceded in death by their siblings, Jane Bowman, Ronald DeVore, Gale Baker, Gerald Baker and Dennis Baker.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike in Boonsboro.

A celebration of their life together will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 8th at Sharpsburg Bible Church, in Sharpsburg with Rev. Gene W. Renner officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Sharpsburg.
