The Rev. Frederick Wallace Pyne, a resident of Buckingham's Choice, died Thursday, March 17, 2016.

He was the son of the late LTC Frederick Cruger Pyne and Helen Louise Wallace.

Mr. Pyne was born in Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas on August 19, 1926. He enlisted in the United States Army on D-Day 1944, served four years in the Regular Army, won an appointment to West Point which he entered July 1, 1948. He did not graduate, completed a Civil Engineering Degree from the former Tri-State College, now the Trine University, in Angola, Indiana in June 1951, and a Masters Degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1966.

After a long career as an Engineer and Professor of Mathematics, he entered the ministry, was ordained in 1993 in the United Episcopal Church of North American (UECNA), and served as the Rector of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church (Traditional) until his retirement in 2000. He was a Professional Engineer (P.E.), a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (F.A.S.C.E.) and a Diplomat of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers.

He was also vitally interested in Genealogy, was Registrar of the Maryland Society of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), President of the SGT Lawrence Everhart Chapter (2000-2002), and a Board Certified Genealogical Records Specialist (CGRS). Pyne had been deeply involved in the Scouting movement as a youth, Scoutmaster and a Commissioner for 63 years until 1998. He has been listed in the Who's Who in America for a number of years.

Married to Jo Ann Rammes in Michigan July 18, 1952, they moved to Maryland in 1952 and lived in the Village of Linwood in Carroll County until 1986 when they moved to Frederick, and then into the retirement community of Buckingham's Choice in 1999.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are his four children: Stephen V. R. Pyne and his wife, Dawn, of Westminster; Anne W. Pyne of Taneytown; Elizabeth Pyne Longo and husband, Joseph, of Frederick; and Mary Pyne Kueberth and her husband, Timothy, of Frederick; three grandchildren: David, Sarah and Katherine; and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Sophia and Maximus.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Buckingham's Choice with Rev. Dr. R. Martin officiating.

Private burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick.
