Remona Carol Runkles, 75, of Mount Airy, MD, passed away on September 7, 2021, unexpected but peacefully at Frederick Memorial surrounded by family. At the time of death, she enters Heavens Gates with Jesus and many loved ones waiting.
Carol born on December 27, 1945, to two loving parents, James Bennett and Violet Bennett in Artie, WV. Carol enjoyed spending time with her family. Beloved wife of 56 years to Jesse Brice Runkles of Mount Airy MD. Mother of M. Lisa Runkles, and Harvey of Mount Airy, MD Jesse James Runkles, and Tina of Mount Airy MD and Cheryl M. Knight, and Brian of Mount Airy MD. She was the best MalMal to her grandkids Christian Tough of Thurmont, Ashley and Jeremy Wagaman of PA. Skylar and Emma Knight of New Market, MD Gracie Knight of Mount Airy, MD. Great MalMal to Easton P. Knight of New Market, MD. Her very loved pet Buttercup. She was a great to many: Sister, Aunt, Friend.
Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Carol’s life, a role that gave her much pride and joy. She was an excellent mom, supportive, kind, strong, and witty and we will all miss her dearly. Carol’s grandchildren held a special place as well. She loved to dance, bingo and trips to the beach most of all spending time with family. She was not just our wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, or friend she was our Best Friend.
Remona Carol Runkles was predeceased by James N Bennett, Violet F, Bennett James (Jimbo Bennett, Cheryl Ann Wilson, Ronnie M. Bennett. Remona Carol Runkles is survived by Charles Bennett and Linda of VA Brother in law Johnny Wilson VA Bonnie Bennett and Donnie of NC Sharon Decker WVA. Many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive family and friends for visitation at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 East Ridgeville Blvd, Mount Airy, MD 21771 on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at 2-4pm and 6-8:30pm. A funeral service will be at Stauffer Funeral Home Monday 13 at 12:00 pm officiated by Rev. Ernest Knight. Interment will follow at the Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mount Airy MD with Jesse Runkles, Brian Knight, Skylar Knight, Jeremy Wagaman, Charles Bennett, and Larry Lee Bennett serving as pallbearers.
