Reginald Norris

October 4, 1928 — February 29, 2012

Reginald Franklin Norris, 83, of Loxahatchee, Florida and formerly of Rohrersville, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at his home in Florida.

Born on October 4, 1928 in Rohrersville, he was the son of the late Harry H. and Leila A. (Mullendore) Norris.

Reginald was a 1947 graduate of Boonsboro High School.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1952 until 1954.

Reginald worked for the B & O Railroad and CSX for thirty eight years in Brunswick, Maryland.

He was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Rohrersville where he enjoyed singing in the choir and the Men's Chorus.

Reginald was a member and past president of the Rohrersville Band, where he enjoyed playing the drums. He was also a member of the Clopper-Michael American Legion Post #10 of Boonsboro.

After his retirement, he enjoyed spending time fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-nine years, Dorothy Norris; a daughter, Marsha Haupt of Loxahatchee; one granddaughter, Angela Charla and her husband Leonard of Loxahatchee; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Anthony Charla, also of Loxahatchee. He is also survived by one sister, Starlene Davis of Hagerstown, Maryland.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. The Rev. Marvin Kline and Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery at Locust Grove in Rohrersville.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, Post Office Box B, Rohrersville, Maryland 21779 or the Rohrersville Band, Post Office Box 12, Rohrersville, Maryland 21779.
