Regina M Long, 75, of Woodbine, Maryland, passed from this life on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Dove House in Westminster, Maryland. Born on June 15, 1946, in Altoona, Pa, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Katherine (Kolbrecki) Kowalczyk.
Regina is survived by husband of 54 years, Kenneth Long. She is also survived by brothers, Raymond, Robert, and Richard and sisters, Ruth Ann (Ronald) Long and Vivian Myers all of Pennsylvania and numerous nieces and nephews.
Regina graduated in 1964 from Portage Area High School, Portage, Pa. and earned a degree in business from Anne Arundel Community College, in Maryland.
Regina made a bold decision to move to Arlington, Va. and began her professional career at the U S Naval Annex there until she married Kenneth Long in 1967. Kenneth was also a transplant from the same general area of Pennsylvania. After marriage, she and her husband moved to Laurel, Md. where she began her long career with the Social Security Administration. Regina retired from Social Security as a district manager.
Regina enjoyed working with people in all facets of her life. She was respected by everyone whether in a personal or business relationship.
After retirement, Regina enjoyed working outdoors, gardening, home decorating, making jewelry for her family and friends and volunteering at her church.
The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at St Michael Church at Poplar Springs, 1125 St Michael’s Road in Mt Airy, Maryland.
A celebration of Regina’s life journey will take place at 1:00pm on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at St Michael Church at Poplar Springs, 1125 St Michael’s Road in Mt Airy, Maryland. Fr Kurt Klismet will officiate.
