Regina Elaine Bealer Alger, 78, of 2709 Rohrersville Road, Gapland, Md. and formerly of Gapland Road, Gapland, died Sunday November 9, 2008 at her home.
Born July 5, 1930 in Gapland, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Herbert and Nellie Catherine Hoffmaster Bealer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse A. Alger, Sr., August 30, 1998.
She was a graduate of Boonsboro High School, class of 1948 and she graduated from Maryland Medical Secretarial School.
She was employed by the Washington County Hospital as a records clerk and retired from Nationwide Insurance Company as a claims secretary.
She was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by one step daughter, Rebecca Briggs and one step son, Jesse A. Alger, Jr. both of W.Va.; one sister, Janice A. Mentzer of Gapland; one brother, H. Blaine and wife, Marcia E., Bealer of Gapland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, C. Mickey Bealer; and one infant brother, Meredith M. Bealer.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home in Boonsboro.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Brownsville Church of the Brethren. Rev. Alan Smith will officiate and burial will follow in Brownsville Heights Cemetery.
