Reece Herald

Reece Alex Herald, 80, of Tamarack Street, Martinsburg, WV, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, VA.


Born April 24, 1927 in Tazewell, VA, he was the son of the late Filix and Virginia Asbury Herald.


He was employed by the Montgomery County School Board.


He attended Boonsboro Church of God.


He is survived by his wife, Lillie Marie Herald, of 59 years; daughter, Dolly Corbin and husband, Irvin, of Inwood, WV; sons, Jerry Herald and wife, Margie, of NC, Ronnie Herald and wife, Shelia, of Lenior, NC, Chris Herald and wife, Brenda, of Hagerstown, Thomas Herald and wife, Pam, of Kearneysville, WV and Keith Herald and wife, Tammy, of Martinsburg, WV; two brothers, Roy Herald of VA and Henry Asbury of MD; three sisters, Catherine Lewis, Peggy Wilber and Josie Tibes all of VA; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by daughter, Virginia Fraley; brothers, Jeff, Sam and Arnold Herald; and sisters, Dorey Hamm, Hun Starling and Lou Herald.


Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 10 at Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro. Her son-in-law, Rev. Daniel L. Fraley, will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery.


The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
