Raymond "Budweiser" Griffith

Raymond (Budweiser) L. Griffith, 73, of Harper's Ferry, West Virginia, passed from this life on Friday, January 12, 2018 surrounded by his family.

Born on November 23, 1944, in Saltvillle, VA, he was the son of the late Raymond Oscar Griffith and Mary Ristine (Hopkins) Griffith.
He met his wife Mary, in high school and married in 1963.  They were married for 54 years.

He was a veteran and proudly served in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged he owned and operated his own trucking company, Griffith trucking for over 8 years.  He also worked for various local grocery chains as a meat cutter.  He retired from Shoppers in 2010.
Raymond was a  lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles # 3509 in Gaithersburg, Moose Lodge #948 Charlestown, WV since 1980, American Legion Post #71. He loved anything outdoors, hunting, fishing, golf, competition archery, slow pitch softball and cards  He loved enjoying times at home with his family.

In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by daughter, Treva Lynn Buckholz and her husband Jeffrey, and Angela Kay Godwin; grandchildren, Trenton Lee and Ryan Mitchell Buckholz, Rebecca Lynn and Lucas Jared Godwin; step grandson, Eddie Morris Godwin IV, sisters, Louise Burgess, Catherine Cissel,  Patricia Collins, and  Mary Libda Rogers. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.

A celebration of Raymond's life journey will take follow at 1:00 pm. Rev. Clark Baisden will officiate.  Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in  Frederick, MD.
