Mr. Raymond "Bunky" Thomas Wigington, Jr. 78 of Brunswick, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at the Western Maryland Hospital Center. He was the husband of Elsie Louise (DeHaven) Wigington for 53 years.

Born September 25, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland he was the son of the late Raymond and Sarah Wigington.

Bunky was a life-long resident of Brunswick, where he attended Brunswick High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958. He started his railroad career with the B&O Railroad and retired with Amtrak at Union Station after 36 years.

He was an active Life Member with the Brunswick Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Company for 50 years. He enjoyed selling the Christmas trees, helping with the Easter candy, making pies and working the different breakfast and dinners they would put on.

He was also a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles #1136 and the American Legion #96 both in Brunswick. After his retirement, he spent many of his days at Mommer's Diner where he would open the restaurant every morning.

Bunky adored his grandchildren, who called him Poppy, and loved his dog Baxter who was always by his side.

In addition to his wife Elsie, he is survived by his two daughters, Tina M. Violet and husband Perry of Keedysville, MD and Traci M. Clendaniel and husband Kurt of Canonsburg, PA and his sisters, Jean Chaney and husband Robert, and Beth Putman, and husband Tom. Also surviving, are his loving grandchildren, Andrew Violet, Hannah Violet, Ryan Clendaniel, and Sarah Clendaniel.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Ave., Brunswick on Friday, March 13th from 6:00-9:00pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, March 14th at 11:00am with Rev. Jennifer Webber officiating. The family will also be present to receive friends on Saturday one hour prior to service time.

Interment will be in Park Heights Cemetery.
