Mr. Raymond Waskowski, 90, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Carol Hortage Waskowski for 65 years.
Born October 23, 1922, in North Tonawanda, New York, he was the son of the late John and Helen Labiak Waskowski.
Ray always enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and in earlier years served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Karen Reed and husband, Rod, Cheryl Wolters and husband, John and Clare Stine and husband, Vince, grandchildren Stacey, Wayne, Caroline, Jack, Christian and Margaret. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia Kukucka, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive family and friends at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, North Church Street, Thurmont on Friday, January 4, 2013, from 6 - 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Msgr. James Hannon at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church on Saturday, January 5, at 11:00 am.
Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
