Raymond Pharaoh

It is with Great Sadness and broken hearts that we report that untimely death of Raymond (Garcia) Pharaoh, of Frederick MD. Ray fought a hard fight, and lost his 10 month battle with pancreatic cancer on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 54.  Ray was the son of the late Jose and Ramona Garcia of Atwater, CA.

Ray was married to his loving wife, best friend and soul mate, of 18 years, Sandy Pharaoh.

Ray joined the United States Navy in 1988 and served for 20 years as a Hospital Corpsman, Physical Therapy Assistant, and Occupational Therapy Assistant.  He worked extensively with the Marines in Paris Island for 10yrs and then At the National Naval Medical Hospital in Bethesda, MD.  He had numerous TDYs through- out that time.  In 2004 he was attached to the Army in Germany as a wound care specialist. Where he came up with a new technique/protocol on how to manage extensive trauma to hands from gun shot and IED wounds. Ray constantly worked outside the box and came up with numerous other protocols for the Navy.  He built the Medivac program from the ground up at Bethesda to coordinate transporting casualties from Andrews AFB to Bethesda during the war. As a civilian he worked in therapy alongside his wife, Sandy Pharaoh (PRN) in local nursing homes and Hospitals.  They have worked at Adventist Rehab Hospital of Maryland for the past 14yrs and are known as either the military couple or the husband and wife team .  5yrs ago he wanted to change career paths and trained extensively and got certified in Special operations, Presidential Security and DDM/overwatch/Sniper. He wanted to use all his skills that he acquired in the service to help his fellow patriots and protect America.

Ray’s main passion was going to the Ft Detrick Gym.  This is where you would find him on the sit-up machine for literally 2hrs.  He trained in hand to hand combat skills and close body contact work outs.  Before his diagnosis Ray was in the best shape of his life. He was anti safe space and prided himself on creating the safe space.  He was a true Alpha Male and a True Patriot.  He had a great love for America and our constitution. Ray was anti PC (Political Correct) He never called himself a Mexican American.  Always an American.
Ray had a awesome smile and a loud joyful contagious laugh. His other hobbies and passions include camping in their 5th wheel, ATV riding, his Harley, firearms/shooting, summers at Bethany Beach, yardwork, spending time with his wife and daughters

Ray would want to be remembered as a gentle, caring and kind soul and devoted his time to enhancing the quality of life of his patients and enjoyed helping his colleagues and friends. A great inventor and developer of new modalities and devices for the medical industry.  His great love for America, his Patriotism and his dedication and service to his country which led him through a career in the military and the desire to help others.

In addition to his wife Sandy he is survived by their beloved daughters, Ashley and Elaina Pharaoh of Frederick, MD and his sons Jason and Stephan of Atwater, CA

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 10 am until 9 pm.   A funeral will be held with full honors at a later date, to be announced, at Arlington National Cemetery.
