Raymond Moser

Raymond Leon Moser, 90, of Brunswick, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at home.  He was the loving husband of Betty (Cline) Moser for 67 years.

Born on June 27, 1926, he was the son of the late Floyd Theodore Moser and Amelia Margaret (Boyer) Moser.

Leon worked for many years as a painter and handyman until he was in his mid-80's.  He was previously employed as a truck driver delivering fuel for the former Sinclair Oil Company.  He served as a Brunswick town councilman during the 1970’s.

He was a member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren.

Leon enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, visiting with friends and family, going to his cabin in Pennsylvania and going to Florida in the winter.  He also enjoyed participating in the butcherings at the Petersville, Burkittsville and Jefferson Ruritan Clubs.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Linda Moser of Charles Town, WV and Shirley Barker of Jefferson, MD; brothers, Austin Moser and wife, Martha, of Frederick and Harold Moser and wife, Barbara, of Jefferson; sister, Thelma Campbell and husband, Stanley, of Boonsboro; aunts, Louise Blair and Naomi Moser; nieces, Denise Hall and Sandra Blickenstaff; nephews, Michael Moser, Steven Moser and Randy Campbell; great-nieces and great-nephews; and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 9th at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, 6213 Picnic Woods Road, Jefferson, MD.  Rev. Tim May will officiate.  Interment will follow at Park Heights Cemetery in Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers, memorials donations may be made to the Leon and Betty Moser Family Fund to benefit the Pleasant View Church of Brethren at www.frederickcountygives.org or send a check to the Community Foundation of Frederick County, 312 East Church Street, Frederick, MD  21701 with the fund name in the memo line.  Donations may also be sent directly to the church at 6213 Picnic Woods Road, Jefferson, MD  21755.
