Mr. Raymond Franklin “Frankie” Mills, 67 of Frederick passed away on Wednesday, December 31st at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia A. Linton Mills. They were married for 46 years.
Born February 11, 1947 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Raymond and Catherine Mills.
He was a graduate of Frederick High School. He worked at Circle S and Ox Fiber Brush Company out of high school and then went on to work as a Frederick City Police Officer. He then retired from N.I.S.T and Bell Metal.
Frankie enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. He also loved going on bus trips.
He once was very involved with the PTA at Urbana Elementary and Mt. Airy Full Gospel School and coached little league at Araby. He also participated in Civil War reenactments.
In addition to his loving wife, Patricia he is survived by his two sons, Ray Mills and wife Kim of Fairfield, PA; and Eric Mills of Fairfield, PA; grandchildren, Kirsten, Dakota, Lexi and Justin; two sisters, Teri Cecil and husband Gordon and Cathy Marrone and husband Bob. He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews and good friend Chuck Stottlemyer.
He is preceded in death by a cousin, Eddie Cook.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held on Sunday, February 8th at the Urbana Vol. Fire Department at 2:00 pm.
