Raymond Illig

Raymond F. Illig, 88, formerly of Cresson PA, died Sep. 13, 2018. Born on April 1, 1930, in Ebensburg, PA he was the son of the late Cyril and Cecelia (Sharp) Illig.
Mr. Illig is survived by wife: Helen; sons: Patrick (Sandy) and Douglas; daughters: Colleen (William) Loomis and Mary Beth (James) Mihm; ten grandchildren; siblings: Eunice Croll, Richard Illig, Eugene Illig and Olive Jacobs. Mr. Illig was preceded in death by sisters: Mary Pramuk, Leona Stevens, and brothers: William, Mick and Glenn; grandson Andrew and granddaughter Kathleen; and a daughter-in-law Jeannine.
Raymond was a veteran of the Korean War, enjoyed bowling and golf, but most of all spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 22 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road, Walkersville, MD 21793. A Memorial Service will be held immediately following the visitation at 11:00 a.m.
A service and final interment is being planned at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
