Raymond Horst

Mr. Raymond A. Horst, 94, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at Country Meadows. He was the husband of Louise S. Horst, his wife of 71years.
Raymond was born May 10, 1920 in Long Island, NY, the son of the late Heinrich August and Alice Hall Horst.
Mr. Horst served his country in the US Army during WWII, retiring after 28 years in the Signal Corps. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post #168.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Roger Horst (Nancy) of Gaithersburg, his daughter Patricia Cole (William) of Frederick, four grandchildren Jason Horst (Erin), Brian Horst (Whitney), Jared Cole (Megan) and Todd Cole (Katie) great grandchildren Emma Horst, Maryn Horst, Griffin Horst and Tyler Horst and a sister Anne Horst of Missouri. He was preceded in death by a sister Dorothy Horst.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 103 N. Church Street, Thurmont, Friday, February 6, at 2:00 pm with Father Larry Donohoo as Celebrant.
Friends may visit at the church from 12:00 until 2:00 pm
Interment Mount Carmel Church Cemetery.
