Mr. Raymond V. Crabbs, 84, of Frederick, MD passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, after a brief illness at the Kline Hospice House. He was the beloved husband of Virginia Caroline Crabbs for 63 years.
Born January 10, 1928 in Yellow Springs, MD he was the son of the late Charles and Clara Boyer Crabbs.
Mr. Crabbs was a graduate of Frederick High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a WWII Veteran. Raymond was a General Manager for Frederick Brick Works prior to his retirement. He was a charter member of the Yellow Springs Lions Club and also coached baseball for the Yellow Springs Junior League. Raymond enjoyed playing golf and spending holidays and vacations with his entire family.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Marty Crabbs and wife Jan of Frederick, and his daughter Susan Stoner of Williamsport, MD; grandchildren Christopher Crabbs and wife Morgan, Jennifer McKittrick and husband Jesse, Ryan Crabbs, Christopher Stoner and Chase Stoner; great-granddaughter Ava Grace McKittrick; and his sister Leola Wiles.
He is preceded in death by his sister Oneida Summers and his brother Leroy Crabbs.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 6-8 PM. Where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 22 at 11 AM. Rev. Linda Warehime will officiate.
Interment will be private.
