Raymond Frederick Baker, of Brunswick, made his transition at Frederick Memorial Hospital on Saturday December 31, 2011.
Born December 9, 1939, in Conneaut Lake PA, he was the son of the late Kathryn and Earl Baker. He graduated from Conneaut Lake Area High School and Allegheny College. He retired from the Department of the Interior, National Park Service at Harper’s Ferry, WV, after 43-1/2 years of service. He won several awards for his work with the Park Service. He loved reading history.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara, and his son, Christopher and daughter-in-law, Christina; brother-in-law Richard Powers; niece Gena Powers; nephew Mike Powers and wife Michelle and children, Emma, Andy and Jesse; niece Danica Hoogstad; nephew Donald Baker; sister-in-law Joyce Baker; several cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Baker, and his sister-in-law, Carol Powers.
His memorial service will be held at Unity in Frederick, 1 West 9th Street, Frederick MD, at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 7th, officiated by Reverend Toni Fish. Memorial contributions may be made to Unity in Frederick;.
