Raylene Dotson, 49, of Frederick died on Sunday, February 8, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She was the 7 year companion of Joseph Eyler with whom she resided.
Born on July 28, 1959, in Frederick she was the daughter of the late John Albert, Sr. and Anna Mae Myers Dotson. She was a general nursing assistant working for Buckinghams' Choice in Adamstown for the past 5 years.
She enjoyed music which included singing and dancing; as well as playing cards and board games, loved to shop, travel and attend tea parties; but her true calling was tending and helping the sick and the elderly.
Surviving in addition to her companion Joe, are 6 brothers and sisters: Dorothy Myers of Frederick, Mary DeLauter and husband Charles, Jr. of Frederick, Ella Washington and husband Worthington of Eldersburg, Ann Jackson and husband Linwood, Sr. of Silver Spring, Bonnie Moore and husband John of Mt. Airy and Joseph Dotson and wife Lynette of Frederick; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Dotson of Frederick; her special companions: her Chow, Tara and Pembroke Welch Corgi, Teddy Longstockings Bartholmy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Raylene was preceded in death by a brother, John A. Dotson, Jr and a niece, Mekia Hammond

The family will receive friends from 9-11 AM on Saturday, February 14, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd. in Mt. Airy where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev. Elza Hurst of Lewistown United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
